2019 Winery Block Pinot 1.5L
Winery Block: A Bergström Wines Estate
Planted 2002-2005 * Chehalem Mountains AVA * Elevation: 400ft
At only 1.3 precious acres of vines, planted as densely as we dare, and farmed entirely by hand, the Winery Block Vineyard is more a bonsai garden of vines than a traditional vineyard. Aromatically explosive 100% whole cluster Pinot Noirs that are richly structured and with an exotic spicy bouquet. A few years of patient cellaring are always rewarded. Learn more about Winery Block
Josh Bergström's Notes
A brilliant ruby red, and with a nose that heretofore could only be found in dreams, the 2019 Winery Block Pinot Noir is carbonic, whole-cluster Pinot Noir at its best. Strawberries, marine salinity, floral pastilles, fresh lilac and violets, fresh blue and red fruits, a slight, herbal, tarragon-like sweetness, and a wonderful tinge of umami savory! And, of course, this vintage has the telltale Winery Block notes of licorice and cola. Rich and sweet in the mouth, with good succulent acidity and juiciness, and a tight, fine-grain-sandy-tannic finish that gives promise for a great future. Drink Now - 2031+. Alcohol: 12.9%.
