Our first Ribbon Ridge estate, owned by the Hill family and farmed by Bergström Wines in partnership since planting in 2006, Pinot Noir from Le Pré du Col is known for its aromatics of spice and woods, silky texture and age-worthy structure. The Chardonnay boasts briny salinity with citrus and floral notes in abundance. Four clonal blocks are designated for rosé.

The 2009 Le Pré du Col Rosé of Pinot Noir may be our finest achievement in rosé yet! In the vineyard, the vines are cropped down to only one small cluster per shoot, and harvested at the same time that we would be picking if it was for a white wine. This ensures that the grapes’ natural acidity is high, the flavor profile in the berries has moved from green banana and guava, to watermelon and strawberry, and the natural sugars are low, so that the resulting wine is not high in alcohol.
