Bergström Vineyard: A Bergström Wines Estate
Planted 1999     *     Dundee Hills AVA     *     Elevation: 380ft

Reminiscent of a terracotta, scorched earth amphitheater, this bowl-shaped estate vineyard is ideally situated in America’s most famous appellation for cool climate Pinot Noir. Facing due south, the Bergström Vineyard is bathed in the warm sunlight of Oregon’s summer days and is also protected from the cool oceanic winds that come through the Van Duzer coastal wind gap to the southwest. The Bergström Vineyard has optimum ripening potential and provides our winery with its most powerful yet elegant expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Learn more about the Bergström Vineyard

Winemaker Notes
*updated February 2024

Ruby red with garnet hues. The bouquet is dynamically intense and complex, with sanguine notes of savory game, scorched earth tera cotta, cherries, blackberries, and powerful oak cologne. As it opens and unfurls in the glass, there are layers of dried porcini mushrooms and citrus oils. A palate boasting a profile of dark-chocolate-covered red and black fruits like dark raspberries and blackberries and ferrous earthiness perfectly matches the wine's bouquet. Weighted with oak spices of clove and cinnamon, this silky Pinot Noir has lasting tannins and succulence, creating a cohesive and balanced finish. This wine represents a very proud moment for our Bergström Vineyard. Drink Now-2030.

*notes from original release in 2019

The 2017 Bergström Vineyard Pinot Noir is dark brilliant ruby in the glass. The aromas are almost indescribable, but they are effusive and intoxicating with citrus oil, tarragon, basil, mint, dark wild cherry, ripe strawberries, red roses, grilled meat, as well as a terracotta, baked clay minerality. It is bright and vibrant with dark cherry and red plum flavors complemented by savory herb and meaty notes which all lead into a juicy, succulent, and mouthwatering finish that is long, spicy, and complex with an iron-rich finish. This wine has a great future ahead! Drink 2020-2035+.
