2017 Shea Vineyard
Shea Vineyard
Planted 1989 * Yamhill-Carlton AVA * Elevation: 400-600ft
One of the great wine properties of the New World, and a wonderful partner of Bergström Wines for 17 vintages. Dick and Dierdre Shea, and their 140-acre vineyard with its endless micro-climates and inch-thin sandy soils consistently produce exceptional Pinot Noir fruit for 20+ of the best wineries in Oregon. Bergström Wines has historically purchased fruit from six different clonal blocks, totaling 16 acres.
Josh Bergström's Notes
The 2017 Bergström Wines Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir is a gorgeous light cranberry color. It has effusive aromas of gingerbread, Chinese five spice, curry, and garam masala with cedar and sandalwood-like incense. This Pinot Noir is also intensely perfumed in the mouth, with great energy, fruit sweetness, and juicy acidity and fine, elegant, ripe tannins. Structured but succulent and fruit forward, this is a very good vintage for the Shea Vineyard, and this wine will drink fantastic young, as well as with 3-8 years of bottle age. Alcohol: 14.1%
