La Spirale Vineyard: A Bergström Wines Estate

La Spirale means the vortex; a symbol of life, creation, and the natural formative forces that guide our hands in our agricultural and winemaking pursuits at Bergström Wines. It is also the name of our newest estate vineyard on the Ribbon Ridge AVA, just a stone’s throw from our Le Pré du Col Vineyard and within eyesight of the winery on the Chehalem Mountains AVA. This complex and beautifully positioned Southwest facing 22-acre rolling slope includes more than 14 different marine sedimentary soil expressions. An elegant and bright ruby red robe. An effusively floral aromatic bouquet is explosively enticing like a still life of potpourri, bundles of fresh cut flowers, savory herbs, a platter of grilled meat topped with cherries, and a basket of freshly foraged mushroom. Pinot Noir at its finest.
The cherry fruit carries through from the aromatics and is accompanied by dark raspberry and blackberry fruits. Lush, restrained, and intensely terroir-focused all at the same time. I love where this wine is heading. Drink Now – 2025+.
