We believe strongly in the power and promise of Oregon Chardonnay. Sigrid Chardonnay is an homage to our Swedish grandmother whose spirit, grace, and strength inspired three generations of Bergström children. After harvesting each of our estate vineyards by hand, we ferment the fruit separately in small French oak barrels, where it undergoes full malolactic fermentation and aging sur lie for 18 months. Only then do we select the finest of these barrels for our Sigrid Chardonnay. In a bottle of Sigrid, you will find the layered textures, mineral structure, fresh citrus and stone-fruit flavors and floral aromas we hope will inspire you to continue following the Oregon renaissance of this noble white grape.

2012 marks the seventh vintage of our flagship white wine: Sigrid Chardonnay. There are only a few small places on earth where the noble varietal of Chardonnay truly reaches great heights, and Oregon’s Northern Willamette Valley is one of those extraordinary places. We believe in the power and promise of Oregon Chardonnay, and our Sigrid consistently turns heads across the wine drinking world. A barrel selection of our finest barrels from the seven exclusive Chardonnay vineyards we farm and work with in the Willamette Valley, our 2012 Sigrid represents our finest effort to date.
The 2012 Sigrid Chardonnay is a white gold wedding right color with a youthful, greenish chlorophyll tint. This is an explosively aromatic wine that showcases classic Chardonnay characters like hazelnut, saffron, lime blossom, Meyer lemon, whipped spiced cream, and a faint whiff of smoke and sweet oak influence alongside just the slightest hint of buttered brioche. A true classic in the making, we find a harmonious balance between richness and concentration in this wine, a characteristic of the outstandingly ripe 2012 vintage, in addition to the acidic tension and mineral cut we look for in the world’s greatest Chardonnays. As always, Sigrid is about textural expression enveloping layers of flavors and varietal expression into a silky, golden gift that can be opened now or cellared with care for years to come, only to gain in complexity and worth. The 2012 Sigrid Chardonnay is delicious now and will be very enjoyable with shellfish, rich buttered fish dishes, pâtés and rillettes and complex artisan cheeses. Drink Now. Alcohol: 14.1%
