2012 Homage Pinot Noir
Homage is our ultimate expression of the vintage and of Bergström Pinot Noir and the art of blending and the 2012 is monumental. The Homage is our tribute to the Oregon wine industry and to all off the women and men who helped us get to where we are today. Our story is made up of countless farmers and winemaking friends who helped us grow fruit and perhaps lent us a piece of equipment or gave a young winemaker an invaluable piece of advice. So this wine is dedicated to them but only produced for you!
The 2012 Homage is dark violet purple colored and gorgeously exotic, opulent and sweet with dark aromatics of blackberries, blueberries, cassis, cedar, new French oak spice and a meatiness and a forest floor autumnal type of a note in the background that makes this wine very serious. The fruits are ripe and sweet and there are copious amounts of incense and licorice notes from the oak. Rich and lavish in the mouth with large scaled 2012 character this wine possesses great fruit, great acid, great structure and could do very well in 5-8 years although it is tough to resist now. Drink 2015 through 2025+
