Gregory Ranch

Planted 2007     *     Yamhill-Carlton AVA     *     Elevation: 460ft

The Gregory Ranch is a 21-acre vineyard planted on a 100+ acre property in the forested foothills of the coast range in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The vineyard is surrounded by old growth Douglast Fir, pine, and large sprawling oak trees. Wild elk and black bear roam the woods, and the forest floor is laced with truffles and mushrooms of all type. Always one of our most robustly earthy and tannic Pinot Noirs.

Josh Bergström's Notes
Updated August 2022

At ten years old, this expression of Gregory Ranch is bricking red in color and settling into an irresistible place of secondary and tertiary notes that harken back to the beauty of the fantastic 2012 vintage. Savory and earthy aromas of baking spices, ripe strawberry, ripe marionberry, brandy-soaked cherries, and chocolate cake give way to a ripe and sweet-feeling Pinot Noir. Silky across the palate with flavors of dark chocolate, ripe figs, cherry compote, rum cake, and gingerbread. Beautiful and balanced on the finish with great structure typical of this great terroir.
