We believe strongly in the power and promise of Oregon Chardonnay. Sigrid Chardonnay is an homage to our Swedish grandmother whose spirit, grace, and strength inspired three generations of Bergström children. After harvesting each of our estate vineyards by hand, we ferment the fruit separately in small French oak barrels, where it undergoes full malolactic fermentation and aging sur lie for 18 months. Only then do we select the finest of these barrels for our Sigrid Chardonnay. In a bottle of Sigrid, you will find the layered textures, mineral structure, fresh citrus and stone-fruit flavors and floral aromas we hope will inspire you to continue following the Oregon renaissance of this noble white grape.
Winemaker Notes
Bright straw with chlorophyl-like green reflections in color. Opens with a tasteful bouquet of bright lemon meringue, flinty minerality, and a touch of toasted coconut, evoking an inviting richness. Subtle pastry crust and delicate baking spices interlace balanced oak sweetness, creating a layered and aromatic profile. Fragrant jasmine and salinity further enhance its complexity. Luxurious and balanced on the palate with the smooth creaminess of marzipan complemented by Meyer lemon peel and the crisp freshness of Dangshan pears. Honeysuckle sweetness lingers on the finish, providing beautiful contrast to the well-defined spine of acidity. The finish is long and focused, leaving a lasting impression of freshness and finesse. A complete Chardonnay that embodies both opulence and precision.
