Temperance Hill Vineyard
Planted 1981 * Eola-Amity Hills AVA * Elevation: 850ft
Planted by the Koo family, and managed by Dai Crisp since ’99. Temperance Hill is perched at the very top of the Eola-Amity Hills with unrelenting wind gusts from the Van Duzer wind gap. These Pinots have an aromatic potpourri of berries, citrus fruits, pine, cannabis, and peppercorns.
Josh Bergström's Notes
Dark, burgundy red in color, the 2019 Temperance Hill Pinot Noir has heady and complex aromas of red roses, ripe marionberry, dark ripe strawberry, citrus oils, chocolate, and incense.
There is a great feeling of ripeness and concentration on the palate with flavors of dark fruit, rich dark chocolate, and sweet baking spices, with a floral lift and a long finish of sweet and savory oak and fruits. With so much good juiciness and structure, this is fun now and showing like the ripest expression of the vintage with a lot of integrity for the short and medium terms. One of my favorite Temperance Hill bottlings! Drink Now - 2025+. Alcohol: 13.3%.
