La Spirale Vineyard: A Bergström Wines Estate
Planted 2005 * Ribbon Ridge AVA * Elevation: 400-450ft
La Spirale means the vortex; a symbol of life, creation, and the natural formative forces that guide our hands in our agricultural and winemaking pursuits at Bergström Wines. It is also the name of our newest estate vineyard on the Ribbon Ridge AVA, just a stone’s throw from our Le Pré du Col Vineyard and within eyesight of the winery on the Chehalem Mountains AVA. This complex and beautifully positioned Southwest facing 22-acre rolling slope includes more than 14 different marine sedimentary soil expressions. Planted by the Redman family and purchased by our family in 2018. Learn more about the La Spirale Vineyard
Josh Bergström's Notes
A youthful and brilliant ruby red, the 2019 La Spirale Pinot Noir has a gorgeously sweet and floral bouquet of peonies, roses, violets, and candied red fruits. This is a very playful and enticing wine with flavors of ripe, dark red-raspberry, strawberry, and red cherry, and a very juicy and succulent acidity that persists through a very long and mouthwatering finish. A very fine tannin structure makes it feel silky, and I believe this wine has a great future ahead of it but is already irresistible and ready to drink right now. Drink Now - 2031+. Alcohol: 13%.
