Gregory Ranch
Planted 2007     *     Yamhill-Carlton AVA     *     Elevation: 460ft

The Gregory Ranch is a 21-acre vineyard planted on a 100+ acre property in the forested foothills of the coast range in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The vineyard is surrounded by old growth Douglast Fir, pine, and large sprawling oak trees. Wild elk and black bear roam the woods, and the forest floor is laced with truffles and mushrooms of all types. Always one of our most robustly earthy and tannic Pinot Noirs.

Josh Bergström's Notes
Updated March 2022

Our swan-song vintage for the Gregory Ranch Pinot Noir is hands down our finest to date! A lovely dark ruby red color in the glass, this wine’s bouquet unfurls with loads of earthy, fruity, and floral dimensions. Behaving more like a world-class Barolo terroir than one for Pinot Noir, this wine is densely structured with excellent and enticing loamy mushroom notes, black and red cane fruits, and a distinct floral lift that brings both charm and brood. Wow! I am loving this wine right now.

Always needing years to best express itself, this vintage from Gregory Ranch is no exception, and it will reward patience for years to come as it’s tannic structure and complexity of wound-up aromatics and flavors show so much promise. Drink Now with decanting or pairing with grilled steaks or slow-cooked/braised stews with lame, beef, or game, or hold for 10+ years.
