Winery Block: A Bergström Wines Estate
Planted 2002-2005 * Chehalem Mountains AVA * Elevation: 400ft
At only 1.3 precious acres of vines, planted as densely as we dare, and farmed entirely by hand, the Winery Block Vineyard is more a bonsai garden of vines than a traditional vineyard. Aromatically explosive 100% whole cluster Pinot Noirs that are richly structured and with an exotic spicy bouquet. A few years of patient cellaring are always rewarded. Learn more about Winery Block
Josh Bergström's Notes
The nose reveals earthy nuances alongside ripe plum and tomato jam, with a subtle kick of arbol pepper. These elements don’t overwhelm, instead allowing for the delicate interplay of Rooibos tea, stem, sumac, and cardamom spice, underscored by low tones of forest floor. The palate is rich with dried black cherries and figs, offering a layered, complex experience. The tannins are deep and brooding, suggesting that this wine would benefit from three more years of cellar aging to reach its full potential.
