La Spirale means the vortex; a symbol of life, creation, and the natural formative forces that guide our hands in our agricultural and winemaking pursuits at Bergström Wines. It is also the name of our newest estate vineyard on the Ribbon Ridge AVA, just a stone’s throw from our Le Pré du Col Vineyard and within eyesight of the winery on the Chehalem Mountains AVA. This complex and beautifully positioned Southwest facing 22-acre rolling slope includes more than 14 different marine sedimentary soil expressions. Planted by the Redman family and purchased by our family in 2018.

Josh Bergström's Notes
The 2018 La Spirale Pinot Noir is a dark, crystalline ruby red in color and has a wonderfully sweet bouquet of ripe blueberries, dark red cane fruits, and sweet baking spices, like cinnamon, clove, anise, and pepper. The wine is medium-bodied with focused, sweet spice cake and fruit flavors and has a distinct mineral cut. Ripe, silky tannins and flavors of dark chocolate round out the finish, which makes this wine very delicious now but it will continue to drink well for some time.
