Winery Block: A Bergström Wines Estate
Planted 2002-2005 * Chehalem Mountains AVA * Elevation: 400ft
At only 1.3 precious acres of vines, planted as densely as we dare, and farmed entirely by hand, the Winery Block Vineyard is more a bonsai garden of vines than a traditional vineyard. Aromatically explosive 100% whole cluster Pinot Noirs that are richly structured and with an exotic spicy bouquet. A few years of patient cellaring are always rewarded. Learn more about Winery Block
Josh Bergström's Notes
One of our ripest 2014 Pinot Noirs, Winery Block is ruby red with black cherry reflections. Upon opening young this wine is tight with cassis bud and blackberry pie notes. Sweet spice with savory herbaceous aromas, ripe black fruits and a faint cherry cola aroma framed by classic French oak. After one hour open this wine has a wildness like Gevrey Chambertin that is bursting with truffle and sauvage elements of game, herbs and ripe fruits. This wine is a wild one, full of complexity that needs time to reveal itself fully. The tannin and acidity make this wine youthful and full of promise. Drink Now - 2025+. Alcohol: 13.2%
