Temperance Hill Vineyard
Planted 1981     *     Eola-Amity Hills AVA     *     Elevation: 850ft

Planted by the Koo family, and managed by Dai Crisp since ’99. Temperance Hill is perched at the very top of the Eola-Amity Hills with unrelenting wind gusts from the Van Duzer wind gap. These Pinots have an aromatic potpourri of berries, citrus fruits, pine, cannabis, and peppercorns.

Josh Bergström's Notes
*notes from original 2016 release

One of Oregon’s greatest sites, perched on top of the Eola-Amity Hills and farmed by one of our most trustworthy friends and farmers, Mr. Dai Crisp. Our 2014 Temperance Hill Pinot Noir perfectly expresses the dichotomy of this site; vines that struggle to ripen and a ripe vintage.

One of our darkest 2014 Pinot Noirs, somewhere between dark ruby and true burgundy in color. The aromas are deep and enticing, both spicy and sweet, savory and reductive. It reminds me most of our home away from home, Burgundy. The mouth is sweet, open and expressive with a good cut of acidity and incredibly round. Dark chocolate covered strawberries with citrus oils hints of a savory broth and saline character; which I believe is part of the vintage expression. This wine will reward those who can patiently wait for 10-12 years. Drink Now - 2030+. Alcohol: 13.25%
